ENTEK International LTD in Newcastle‐upon‐Tyne, UK, received honors in four categories at the Best Factory Awards ceremony sponsored by Cranfield School of Management. The awards celebrate manufacturing excellence in the UK and were held on Friday, September 28 at London’s Park Lane Sheraton Hotel.
ENTEK won in the Best Process Plant and Best Energy & Environment categories, as well as jointly in the Best People Management category. It was also awarded a ‘highly commended’ nod in the Best Small Medium Enterprise category.

Martin Lee, Managing Director, credits ENTEK’s success to its focus on Lean principles, and to its employees and their involvement in, and commitment to, continuous improvement. In attendance at the ceremony were Larry Keith (CEO), Martin Lee (Managing Director), Karen Brown (Human Relations Manager), as well as production supervisors and representatives the company’s production teams. The Best Factory Awards 2012 are run by Cranfield School of Management with the magazine Works Management and sponsored by Toyota Material Handling UK, IOSH, Schaeffler, Zurich, EAL and Epicor.
