ENTEK’S Newcastle plant is very proud to have been nominated for six categories in the 2016 Best Factory Awards as seen in the following correspondence.
“I am pleased to be able to inform you that, following the recent Judges’ meeting, your plant will be included in the short-list for the 2016 Best Factory Awards and your plant is eligible for nomination in the following specific categories:
- Process Plant Award
- Continuous Improvement Award
- Energy and Environment Award
- Export Award
- Most Improved Plant Award
- People and Skills Development Award
All plants are also eligible for nomination for the Factory of the Year.”
After a lot of hard work from the whole team leading up to 2012, Martin Lee – Managing Director felt it was the right time to shout from the rooftops and promote all that we had done through the 2012 Best Factory Awards and we won 3 prestigious awards for:
- People Management
- Energy and Environment Award
- Best Process Plant
“Our goal was to go there and win for our people and their committed dedication and not for the trophy. They did all the hard work to get us there and we all reaped the benefits.”
Since 2012, we have hosted as many as 10 visits per year to companies like Jaguar Landrover, who have come to see how ENTEK sustains Continuous Improvement and the Lean Journey. We have hosted a number of Shingo events and continue to have enquiries for more visits.
However, we have not stood still for the past four years, and although we could have entered every year, we wanted to tell another story of success and not the same one. So, in 2016 Newcastle’s Senior Management Team decided it was time to shout from the rooftops again, and are extremely delighted after a very thorough audit, with the Judges decision to nominate us for awards in six categories.
Our greatest thanks go to all of our team at the Newcastle plant for the continuous hard and dedicated work that they have done and which in turn has given us this great chance to promote our combined achievements.
