25% Greater Output Achieved Using New Screw and Process Technology
NPE 2006, Booth No. 1304, McCormick Place South
At a press conference on May 18, 2006 at company headquarters in Lebanon, OR, ENTEK demonstrated new technology that allows the highest throughput capabilities ever achieved on the company’s 53mm twin-screw extrusion equipment. ENTEK engineers will be on hand at NPE 2006 to discuss this latest development with fiber and wood-plastic composites suppliers. Information on the demonstration is listed below:
Equipment:
ENTEK E-MAX™ 53mm Co-Rotating Twin Screw Extruder with a Melt Pump
Screw Speed: 1200rpm max
Motor: 300hp
Product:
Wood-plastic composite decking
Wood-Plastic Composite Formula:
HDPE: 30-40 wt %
60 mesh Wood Flour: 40-60 wt %
Undried Wood Flour Moisture: 4-12 wt%
Additive/Filler: 4-15 wt%
Actual Production Rate:
1,600 lbs/hr for decking profile extrusion (previous maximum throughput estimated at 1,200 lbs/hr)
25% more throughput via new screw and process technology for more effective wood mixing and moisture removal
